SND’s print competition committee officially welcomed Chris Rukan of the Washington Post as the coordinator for the 39th Best of News Design Creative Competition, to be held in February 2018 in St. Petersburg.
Led by a New York Times photo entry that earned Best in Show recognition, judges gave out more than 1,100 awards in the 38th edition of the SND Best of News Design creative competition.
After three days of competition, SND38 Best of News Design judges awarded Best in Show to the New York Times for their entry in category 15A, single-day photo series, multiple photos.
Entries are evaluated on writing, visual storytelling, use of resources, execution, photography, headlines and “voice” – as well as overall design.
Journalists from around the world have traveled to St. Petersburg, Florida, to participate in the Society for News Design’s annual Best of News Design competition. Follow along through the livestream, or photo galleries of winning pages.
