The Casper Star-Tribune, Wyoming’s statewide newspaper and top media organization, is seeking a news production editor with high standards and strong organization and communication skills to join our news team.
In the role, you’ll oversee our copy desk and work with a remote design center to ensure the daily newspaper is compelling, clean and produced on time. You’ll also manage our array of special sections.
A commitment to quality, including an eye for detail, is a must. You’ll need strong editing and time management skills as well as the demonstrated abilities to meet a variety of deadlines, work well under pressure and collaborate with others in the newsroom and in other departments.
We’re looking for someone with critical thinking skills, good news judgment and a strong grasp of grammar and AP style. Digital skills are required – we’re looking for someone who is comfortable posting breaking news on our website and on social media. Hours include some evenings and occasional weekend work.
You’ll join a vibrant newsroom that emphasizes enterprise stories and projects – we’re hardworking but know how to have fun. We take pride in being our state’s largest and most important media voice.
Outside the newsroom, Wyoming offers endless outdoor opportunities. We’re at the base of a beautiful mountain range where you can hike in the summer and ski in the winter. World-class camping and fishing spots are just a short drive out of town. Casper boasts a small-town feel with big city offerings of restaurants, shopping and the arts. And if you’re missing the big city, Denver is an easy drive.
The Casper Star-Tribune is a Lee Enterprises news organization with a daily circulation of about 17,000. We offer an excellent benefits package, including medical, dental, vision, paid holidays and vacation. We are an equal opportunity employer. You can see our website at www.trib.com and learn more about our company at www.lee.net.
