The Pittsburgh Post-Gazette is seeking a talented graphics specialist to join its award-winning team of visual journalists.
The candidate should be a good communicator, ready to collaborate with our team of designers, infographics specialists, developers, reporters, and editors to create compelling interactive graphics for digital initiatives, interactive web projects, premium magazines and the daily newspaper. Versatility is key.
Applicant should be proficient in Adobe Creative Suite, including InDesign, Photoshop and Illustrator. Experience with informational graphics and understanding of web fundamentals are essential.
We are seeking a candidate with experience with GIS-based mapping software such as ARC GIS, and responsive graphics programs such as High charts and Tumult Hype.
Must be deadline-oriented, flexible and able to multi-task with a strong interest in problem solving and storytelling.
• Create smart, compelling graphics for a variety of sections in tablet/mobile app
• Create initial concept design for interactive web projects
• Work closely with news staff and assist design team in all aspects of execution of projects
