The Washington Post is looking for a graphics assignment editor to join our award-winning team, which is made up of visual journalists who find new and compelling ways to tell stories.
This editor will help lead a team focused on conceiving, researching, writing and designing elegant information graphics. The ideal candidate will coordinate projects that involve multiple teams, ensuring that the work succeeds on all Post platforms. Enough expertise in front-end development to define priorities based on technical needs is also a requirement. The editor will report, design and build projects on occasion.
We’re looking for a creative storyteller with an excellent track record in using graphics to take a visual approach to the news. The role requires strong communication skills and experience in the management of projects and people. Candidates should be comfortable working on deadline. Some night and weekend shifts may be required.
To apply, send us your best projects, and tell us what you think makes them special. Explain your current role and what you learned. Tell us about your ideas. Send materials to Chiqui Esteban, Graphics Director, [email protected], or Tracy Grant, Managing Editor, at [email protected] by June 29.
