The monthly magazine of Il Sole 24 was redesigned in 2011 — and quickly became the envy of designers around the world for its vibrant use of typography. It’s a publication that always tries to reinvent itself, creating and designing different modules on every issue.

Since 2008, Francesco Franchi has been the art director at IL, the monthly magazine of Il Sole 24 ORE. Before that, he worked for five years as a senior designer at Leftloft, a Milan based design studio, dealing with communication design, editorial projects and infographics.
He holds a Bachelor in Industrial Design from Politecnico di Milano. In 2005, he took specialized classes in Communication Design at the London Metropolitan University. In 2007, he graduated cum laude at Politecnico di Milano, where he gained a Master degree in Industrial Design.
He is the author of Designing News: Changing the World of Editorial Design and Information Graphics.
