Senior Vice President, Sportscenter and News, ESPN
As Senior Vice President, SportsCenter and News, Rob King oversees all of SportsCenter and ESPN’s newsgathering operations. Previously, as Senior Vice President, Content, ESPN Digital & Print Media, King was responsible for all content and the editorial direction of ESPN’s portfolio of digital and print sports properties. King joined ESPN in 2004.
He began his television career after almost 20 years in newspapers, primarily in roles in visual journalism and sports. A past Pulitzer jurist, King serves as the Chairman of Poynter’s National Advisory Board and is a member of the Associated Press board of directors. In May, King was named by Fast Company among its “Most Creative People 2014.”
King received a Bachelor of Arts degree in English from Wesleyan University in 1984. In 1986, King attended Penn State, studying Journalism as part of the School of Communication’s inaugural graduate class.
