Due to the health and safety concerns surrounding the coronavirus pandemic that continues to escalate, the Executive Committee of the Society for News Design and the SNDDC workshop committee have decided to postpone the annual workshop, as well as the associated leadership, student and typography sessions, that had been scheduled for April 3-6, 2020, in Washington, D.C.
The health and safety of SND members worldwide is our top priority. The SNDDC committee is working to secure future dates and will alert all SND members and registered attendees once finalized information has been determined. For those that have already signed up for the event, your registration will be valid at the future workshop. Full refunds will also be available.

What if I already purchased my registration? (including type and leadership add-ons)
If you already purchased your registration to SNDDC you will have the option to keep your registration, guaranteeing your admittance to the workshop when a new date is announced. You may also opt to be fully reimbursed. If you opt to hold your registration, SND will reimburse all registration costs to the “early bird pricing.” For example if you registered as a SND member after early bird pricing and paid $450, you will be reimbursed $100.
When do I have to inform SNDDC of which reimbursement option I choose?
March 30 is the deadline to inform SNDDC of which reimbursement option you choose. If we do not have a new date for the workshop by that time, we may extend the deadline. If you do not request a refund your registration will be automatically applied to the future workshop.
What about Type and Leadership tickets?
Leadership and Type day registrations (individual and combined) will be completely refunded within the next 14 days.
When will I be reimbursed?
Depending on which option you choose and when your order was placed, you should see a reimbursement within 14 days. We will keep you updated if this changes.
What if I already booked travel?
Will the locations still be in DC?
Yes, the workshop will remain in DC, unless the Coronavirus pandemic escalates in the US. We will notify everyone at a later date.
What if I received a grant or free registration as a volunteer and the new date does not work for me?
Volunteers will have the option to continue their roles at the future 2020 workshop. Travel grants will carry over as well.
When will we know the new dates and details?
We are working with area vendors to determine new dates and locations within DC for the workshop. We are committed to consistent communication about SNDDC to all of our members and attendees. We will keep everyone informed via social media, newsletters and through www.snd.org.
