The New York Times Wins Silver Medal for ‘Houses in the Path of the Washington Mudslide’


The New York Times has won a silver medal in the Information Graphics: Breaking News category with its piece, “Houses in the Path of the Washington Mudslide.”

Judges remarks:

  • “You see it, you understand the story. You leave with everything.”
  • “They were able to convey so much information in a simple animation.”
  • “It’s a killer. The thing about graphics is they rarely make me care. This graphic – I actually felt it in my stomach.”
