It’s time to enter the Society for News Design’s annual Best of Digital Design Competition, highlighting the best digital stories, websites, mobile and tablet apps of 2014.
Last year we saw more than 500 entries come in — a new best for this growing competition. We’re expecting even more this year as digital news design continues to grow and mature — from furthered use of open-source libraries to a refined use of typography.
We’ve streamlined and refined the competition categories even further this year and hope you’ll find it easier to figure out where your entries fit best. We’ve also combined all of the special events into one category.
The deadline for entries is Monday, February 2, 2015 at 11:59 pm ET. Judging will take place in Indianapolis Feb. 20-22. World’s Best announcements will take place at the SND annual workshop in Washington D.C. on April 11.
A big thank you to The Washington Post’s Joey Marburger and Jeremy Gilbert, and to Ryan Sparrow at Ball State, for their organizational efforts.
