Judges have awarded the first silver medal of the SND34 Best of Digital Design contest to the Washington Post for its entry, “Newtown School Shooting: Remembering the Victims” in the breaking or daily news, over 50,000,000 page views/month category.
Here’s what the judges had to say:
“There was an emotional resonance in the way the kids are treated in the photo grid.”
“It’s navigable and not overly-complicated. It allows for space to interact and connect with the story.”
“It’s simple and direct with a sympathetic touch that was appreciated as a human and as a journalist.”
