The 34th Edition of the Society for News Design’s Best of News Design competition is under way!
A group of 22 visual journalism experts from around the world have gathered here on the campus of Syracuse University to judge more than 9,300 entries over the next three days. 34th Edition coordinator Melissa Angle has given the judges their initial instructions and the groups have already started their work.
Your first categories on the table: Spot news photography, opinion page design, special news topics/election, and local news page design.
Amazingly enough, the weather issues of the last few days on the east coast haven’t caused a major impact on the judging. The SND International Web Desk (SNDIWD) is up and running, and we’ll be bringing you live coverage, including winning entries, judges’ comments and some of the sights and sounds of this annual celebration of the best of visual journalism.
Stay tuned to SND.org throughout the weekend for the latest from Syracuse!
