NEWS: Big night for Indiana at Casino Night
The climax of Casino Night (other than THREE straight 11's at the craps table!) was the awarding of the grand prize - a new Macbook laptop - in the final raffle prize of the evening.
The winner of the laptop was a student - but not just any student. The lucky ticket was in the hand of Mark Koenig (KAY-nig), Indiana University senior and SND's student designer of the year.
This story's just too good - Koenig, for winning the SND design honor, was here in Orlando for free already; his current computer was lovingly referred to as "a new 7-year-old Gateway" which we can only imagine has a black-and-white screen and runs Windows 95.
Alas, Koenig hadn't even popped open the laptop yet - a fact the SND International Web Desk would like to see rectified by this afternoon.
Koenig is entering his senior year at IU and will graduate in August. The fabulous sports designer says he's looking for a job, but we're sure the fact that the AME/Visuals from a fellow Indiana paper handed him his new laptop last night won't go unnoticed.

Mark, congratulations on your new Mac – that's excellent!
I read this blog entry out loud at the Daily Student's weekly staff meeting and you got a lot of laughs and a round of applause :)
Now get back here, we've got pages for you to do!

Go Hoosiers! Don't forget Chicago Sun-Timer/Indiana Daily Student and IU alumn Eric White heard his name called for two tickets to Cirque de Soleil. Not quite a Mac Book. But close, right?
