NEWS: Look for Design's special 100th issue

Keep an eye out for SND Design Magazine's special 100th issue. There will be copies at the Society's booth in the exhibition area through Saturday. The special collector issue is now on the table, so get one while they are hot!

The issue has two great essays. Phillip Ritzenberg, one of the founders of SND and a brilliant design thinker, has looked back at the 100 issues and assessed what we've learned about news design over the last nearly three decades since the Society was founded. Oh, and what have we learned? It's the journalism that makes the design go. The other essay is by an incredibly innovative visual thinker: Richard Saul Wurman. Wurman has made a career of thinking about how we organize information, from healthcare to phonebooks to entertainment. His thesis: It's information architecture, not design, that makes a difference.

There are also snaps of all 100 covers and interviews with past editors.

How about scanning and posting every issue of Design on the internet for reference. It could be open to anyone interested... or password protected for members only. Might be a worthy committee project.
