NEWS: It's official ... Las Vegas in '08!

The SND board has approved a bid from the Las Vegas Sun to host the Annual Workshop & Exhibition in the Nevada desert in 2008. The SND International Web Desk, while rejoicing, has this word of caution as you think about making your plans: Get some sleep now! You will need your rest before heading to the 24/7 haven that is Las Vegas. Did we mention you can get a drink or gamble any hour of the day or night?

Site chair Bill Gaspard explains that he's already planning a cool program in the ultra-hip Red Rock Las Vegas, an amazing space near the natural beauty of the canyons, just in case gaming and drinking is not your bag. And the design vibe at that space is nothing short of stunning. In the city that continually reinvents itself, the theme for the workshop will revolve around "reinvention," Gaspard said.

Also exciting is that it will be the first time the Society has met with another major American group at its annual workshop: The Associated Press Managing Editors conference will be in Vegas at the same time, and Gaspard is planning several joint events.
