Digital First Media's design hub in Boulder, Colorado, is expanding. We're looking for a news or sports designer with 3-plus years of professional page design experience. We've recently brought on board the St. Paul Pioneer Press and we will be bringing the Denver Post into the design hub in late spring. We've filled many of our news positions, so if you're a designer with a good background or passion for sports, we'd love to chat with you.
You'll have the opportunity to work on some major metros as well as dailies along Colorado's gorgeous Front Range. Our sports departments cover it all, from preps to pros. We're looking for savvy designers with a portfolio that really showcases your talent.
This is a fantastic time to join our team as we continue to expand. The Denver area is booming and you'll be at the foot of the Rocky Mountains.
We're a match if you have a great portfolio that showcases a deep understanding of page design, typography and hierarchy. You also have daily newspaper experience, a flair for headlines and a good knowledge of AP style. You enjoy working as part of a collaborative, creative team and have great people and customer-service skills, even under deadline pressure. A Bachelor's in journalism is a huge plus, although a portfolio that really shines holds the most weight.
Only applications with a portfolio will be considered.
Work schedule is mostly evenings and with some weekend hours and also some holidays.
Please send your resume and a link to your portfolio (PDFs are also fine) to Design Director Rob Quan at email@example.com.
