PRESIDENT
Susan Mango Curtis
Northwestern University
Susan Mango Curtis, currently SND 1st V.P., is an assistant professor
at the Medill School of Journalism, Northwestern University, where she
teaches visual journalism. Her professional awards include SNDs
Best of Newspaper Design competition. She has served as Diversity
Chair for SND and as a judge in SNDs annual design competition
as well as many other press associations' contests, and organized many
workshops for SND and NABJ.

VICE PRESIDENT
Bill Gaspard
Los Angeles Times
Bill Gaspard is the News Design Director at the Los Angeles Times. In
the fall of 1997, he was site chair for the Societys Annual Workshop
and Exhibition held in San Diego. The following year he was a judge
for the annual Best of Newspaper Design competition. He is currently
SNDs 2nd V.P. The First and Second V.P. positions are being eliminated
and combined into one position for 2004 and beyond.

Christine McNeal
Milwaukee Journal Sentinel
Christine McNeal, currently SND Treasurer, is the A.M.E./Design Graphics
and Photography at the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel. She is well-known
for her SND Quick Course talks on working with fewer resources, graphics
and photos. An SND member since the 80s, she has worked on the competition,
education and Quick Course committees and has won many SND awards.

SECRETARY
Scott Goldman
The Washington Post
Scott Goldman is the Assistant Sports Editor in charge of design at
The Washington Post. He is currently SND Secretary, and has been a member
of the SND Competition Committee for more than 10 years. He has been
a judging assistant for the annual competition since 1988, was the judging
coordinator for the 18th Edition in 1997, and was a judge for the 22nd
Edition in 2001. Hes won more than 20 SND awards, including a
Gold Medal. He is in charge of this year's 25th Annual Workshop and
Exhibition, Sept 4-6.
