Other News Design Competitions
Several SND affiliates or regions sponsor competitions for print and/or Web design.
The American Society of Newspaper Editors invites visual journalists to submit
entries to the Community
Service Photojournalism Award and the Batten
Medal,
which honors a body of work, including photos and graphics, that represents
the journalistic values the late Jim Batten stood for: compassion, courage,
humanity
and a deep
concern
for
the underdog.
Both awards carry cash prizes, entries are free and the deadline is Feb. 1, 2007. Learn more about the awards here.
