The Society for News Design and its affiliates
conduct many competitions throughout the year.
Best of News Design: The annual overall best-of print design competition hosted by Syracuse University each February.
Best of Multimedia Design: The annual competition for multimedia design, with quarterly rounds hosted by the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
Malofiej: The annual information graphics competition hosted by SND-E at the University of Navarra each March.
Student SND competition: The annual student design competition hosted by the University of Missouri each spring.
