Past Workshops
Our annual workshops have been a great gathering place for editors, publishers, designers, illustrators, photographers and other journalists from around the world. The variety of seminars at the annual workshop have been conducted with experts and the best resources in the field.
The first workshop sponsored by SND took place in Chicago in 1979, and was attended by 150 people. These numbers increased rapidly and years later, the 1995 workshop in Barcelona, Spain, drew 752 attendees. This was the first time the Society's annual workshop was held outside North America. It was named El Congreso Mundial (SND's "World Congress"); and the tremendous response — delegates from 37 nations — indicated a broader and more international interest in newspaper design and graphics that continues to grow.
