Come invent tools that promote community at SNDMakes Austin
The Society for News Design is thrilled to announce applications are now open for the fourth SNDMakes cohort in Austin, Texas.
‘Makes’ is the Society’s boutique prototyping event — think carefully-designed-dinner-party, not hackathon free-for-all — that uses principles of design-thinking to create solutions for modern news and media companies.
Join us in Austin, the weekend of November 13-15, 2015, as the SNDMakes team partners with Statesman Media. We’ll be tackling the question, “How might we design tools that build community?” with a focus on ways to strengthen relationships between media organizations and the audiences they serve.
During our 2.5 days together, we’ll not only build prototypes, but we’ll also build relationships with some of the brightest minds in media — designers, engineers, journalists and product managers alike. Whether you’re an experienced developer or a technology n00b, our event format ensures that anyone with a passion for media and a desire to collaborate can make meaningful contributions to a team.
To learn more about what SNDMakes is all about you could read our FAQs, but we think past participants like Dheerja, and the Vox Product team paint a pretty great picture of what you can expect from our time together.
Applications are due Monday, September 14, at 9 a.m. EST.
45 participants will be accepted into this cohort, and notifications will be sent out on Thursday, September 17. Registration will be complete after selected participants purchase an event ticket. Note we also offer partial scholarships for students and professionals that can demonstrate need.

I believe what you posted made a great deal of sense.
But, think about this, what if you added a little content?
I mean, I don’t want to tell you how to run your blog, but suppose you added something
that makes people want more? I mean Come invent tools that promote community
at SNDMakes Austin – The Society for News Design – SND is kinda plain. You might peek at Yahoo’s front page and note how
they write post titles to grab viewers interested. You might try adding
a video or a picture or two to get people excited about
everything’ve written. Just my opinion, it might make your posts a
little livelier.
