The New York Times has won a silver medal in the Special Events category with its piece, “Is That A Luge In Times Square?”

Judges remarks:

  • “They differentiate themselves. Four Olympics ago, everybody did sort of drawing graphics. Now, the Times does something that’s different from what other people did.”
  • “They took the same stuff and they did something creative and engaging and technically cool, technically savvy.”
  • “They are not doing what they did two years ago for the Summer Olympics. They are always trying to approach the Olympics in a fresh way.”
