Announcing “Hacktucky,” SNDLOU’s hackathon

hacktucky

SNDLouisville will be one for the history books. We’re thrilled to announce the Society for News Design’s first hackathon, sponsored by Advance Digital. The goal: build and ship a product ready for use in 24 hours. Hacktucky participants will work hands-on with some of the smartest people in the industry.

This isn’t an event solely for developers. We’re creating teams stocked with designers, project managers, programmers and editors. All Hacktucky teams will have at least one developer, one designer and one student. The organizers also recognize that everyone has unique abilities that may not neatly fall into a specific catagory. Regardless, if you are ready to grow and build, we encourage you to apply.

A panel of judges will pick the winning entries, and present the grand-jury prize during the the final session on Saturday afternoon.

Hacktucky is a free event with a limited number of seats. If you’d like to participate, fill out the form here. We’ll select the teams prior to the event. Those picked to participate will have also have full access to all SND Workshop sessions and events.

The 2013 annual workshop and exhibition will be held in Louisville, Ky., on Nov. 7-9. To find out more, visit sndlou.com. To register for the event, click here.
