Judges awarded a gold medal to USA TODAY for its entry “USATODAY.com Reimagined” in the redesign category.

Here’s what the judges had to say:

“It is the most radical redesign among the ones we have seen, 100 percent re-architecture and re-skinning of the site.”

“The site has an emphasis on fluidity. It is not just responsive, but also responsive with different modes of interaction. And they did this not just by responding to the limitations, but embracing it. It is very inviting to click, which allows users to explore more with the interface.”

“It is a site that feels like a news app.”
