Here’s what the judges had to say about the entry:
There are so many layers to these illustrations; the more you look at them the more details you see and the more engaged you become. But each detail combines to make a whole that works. It’s impressive how good the likenesses are; you instantly recognize the person being portrayed. This use of collage is so innovative it feels like a completely new approach — there nothing like it. Each piece contains an Easter egg that helps tell the story of the person, and each illustration is a story in itself that could stand alone. The pieces exude such wit and personality that you feel engaged with the person creating the illustrations. A strong voice is emerging through this work.
