Meet your 2012 SND Officers

The election results are in, and we are pleased to announce the officers for 2012:
President: Jonathon Berlin, Chicago Tribune
Vice President: Rob Schneider, Dallas Morning News
Secretary/Treasurer: David Kordalski, The (Cleveland) Plain Dealer.
Kordalski won the only contested race. Of 220 votes cast in that race, he received 130, for 59% of the vote. Gabi Schmidt received 54 votes (25%) and Mike Rice received 36 votes (16%).

Cristóbal Edwards named SND international director

Cristóbal Edwards has been named SND’s international director. “Chris is uniquely positioned because of his diverse media experience coupled with his extensive travel and connections with visual journalists all over the globe,” said Steve Dorsey, SND president.
Edwards, 42, has flown just about one million air miles to 48 countries, 30 US states and two Canadian provinces since he first traveled abroad, when he was 3 months old… but this year’s SND workshop will be his first time in Missouri.

SND fall board meeting: Aiming high above St. Louis

Society for News Design board members gathered for our twice-a-year board meeting Wednesday, Sept. 28 on the 21st floor of the workshop hotel — The Renaissance Grand. The board is made up of volunteers from across the globe representing different geographic regions and topic areas. At the meeting were members from Dubai, Germany, Mexico, Canada and the U.S.
